Enhanced Website for Alzheimer's, Macular Degeneration and Glaucoma

To better fulfill its mission of helping the millions of people affected by Alzheimer's disease, macular degeneration and glaucoma, the American Health Assistance Foundation (AHAF) has just launched a completely renovated website.

According to Kathleen Honaker, Executive Director, "Our team worked hard to create a website that will engage people whose lives have been impacted by these diseases. It is extremely informative and offers everything from practical recommendations to hope for the future."

AHAF is a non-profit organization that funds research seeking cures for Alzheimer's disease, macular degeneration and glaucoma, and has a strong public outreach program. The new AHAF website is a source of reliable, up-to-date information for the rising number of people diagnosed with these age-related, degenerative diseases.

The redesigned website includes a wealth of information on the diseases themselves, prevention strategies, diagnosis, treatment, and coping with everyday challenges, as well as the latest research news and medical updates. In the "Questions and Answers" section, visitors can find expert answers to inquiries from others, or ask specific questions that arise in living with these diseases.

To enhance the site's utility, AHAF has partnered with SnapforSeniors™ with a direct link to this company's comprehensive database of senior housing throughout the U.S. The information provided by the SnapforSeniors database will help people make the best decisions about living arrangements for themselves or loved ones.

AHAF has also partnered with an organization, Lotsa Helping Hands, to provide an online calendar that enables caregivers and volunteers to coordinate their activities.

Visitors will find the site simple to navigate and will be able to quickly get the information they need. To assist the visually impaired, there is a text size and color contrast adjuster. Copies of all AHAF print publications are also available in portable document format (PDF) to read online or download.
